For three years I worked in publicity, specifically in the area of television and radio commercial production, documentaries and promotional videos, and in publicity photography and food styling direction.  I started working in New Media in January 2003. As director of the area, I am in charge of coordinating the production and postproduction of classes, courses and events that are held at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, and coordinating the online and elective courses.

In 2003 I received an honorific mention in the JADE publicity awards, for a commercial I worked on as a producer.

I was a Graphic Design professor at Centro de Estudios Comerciales en Informática. For two years I worked for the television producer New Vision, as a graphic designer, editor and cameraman. Since May 2003 I have been working for New Media, as a video producer.

I was part of the jury of the illustration competition at Primera Feria de la Comunicación USAC (2000).

In 2006 I graduated as a bilingual secretary from Instituto Guatemalteco Americano (IGA), where I participated in the XVI Spelling Competition “De la Riva” winning 2nd place in group category. I am presently studying Economy at Universidad Mariano Gálvez de Guatemala. I worked at the library Ludwig von Mises at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Systems and Cataloging; then I transferred to the Department of New Media, where I work as an administrative assistant. I hope in God to graduate as a professional Economist and have the opportunity to work, in the future, at a financial entity and be able to share my knowledge in my country´s benefit.

 I am a graphic designer with a major in Multimedia from Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala and in 2000 I obtained an educational television producer degree, also from Universidad San Carlos. I later obtained an Associate Degree in Analog Production Systems and Video Postproduction with the Japanese Cooperative JICA, which lasted 3 years. I worked for the Department of Architecture of Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, department of audio-visual production for four years. My work was focused on educational material for university students.

I have worked as a graphic designer, digital editor, digital producer and photographer for Guatemalan companies and Medias. Since 2003 I have been working for New Media UFM, focusing in recording and producing different events held at UFM.

I have participated in international professional photography competitions. In 1998 I obtained second place in the photography competition “Metamorfosis de un Lago” and in 1999 I obtained a special mention for my photography used for the publicity poster of Eventos pro-cuaresmales.

As a voluntary I have participated in vaccination campaigns, coordinated the youth group NIJOV at my parish, Cristo Hermano , coordinated the editorial group of the bulletin of the parish and took part of the parish counsel.

Mi name is Tairon Leal, I am a professional Publicist, graduated from Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala. Presently, I am studying TV Production at Universidad Galileo, second year. I am proud of being able to contribute with my services to New Media. My main objective is to accomplish my duties with a high degree of competitiveness and productivity for the University and my country.

I graduated High School from Colegio Valle Verde. Presently, I am studying Auditory in the School of Economics at Universidad Francisco Marroquín.

I have a couple of Associate Degrees in Computers related to service and hardware and software installing, with knowledge in networks in Windows and Linux environments. I always had a great interest for the structure of a computer, its capacity and the new tendencies. I have been working at New Media, since June 20, 2007. My works consists in helping everyone in the department with their computer systems, so they are working efficiently.  I am also in charge of servicing our website.

I am a licentiate in Communication Science, graduated from Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala. One of my biggest achievements in my professional life was to study the communicational relationship between the cultural groups Q´eqchí, Latin, Garífuna and Hindu descendents in the township of Livingston, Izabal, where I had the opportunity to live and see their different customs.

I work in the Department of New Media in analysis, correction and control of our projects.

Carlos Petz

I graduated from the high school CED of the Universidad Mariano Gálvez, with a major in Computer Science.
I have experience in hardware and software installment and service, and I have configured networks for Macintosh and Windows. I have also received courses in webpage development and programming with c++ and Fox Pro.
I have been working in New Media since November 12, 2007. My work consists in making sure that all of the computers work efficiently, and service the New Media website.

Mynor de León
Digital Producer

I am a professional Publicist graduated from Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala (2007). I previously worked as a producer, director, editor and capsule director for a cable television company, TELECOM (2006). I also worked as a freelance cameraman for Canal Antigua, for one year. I have also worked independently as video editor. I studied English at Centro de Aprendizaje de Lenguas (CALUSAC) and I have obtained several courses in software related to design.
My interests consist mainly in video production and music (harmonic elixir that nurtures me with strength day by day). I am a guitarist by hobby and play the keyboard in a local band.
I have been part of the New Media team, since August 2007

Six years ago I started working in television production. From 2001 I worked in Lago Televisión Atitlán as a volunteer, working on special reports and as a cameraman for live transmissions of the Telethon, General Elections, sporting, cultural and religious events and as editor for the television program Noticias 41, where I worked as an editor and producer of segments for 3 years.  My greatest satisfaction was to participate in the community work this channel does, supporting educational and cultural activities, and being able to provide own programming.

I started in New Media in June 2007, and my work consists of editing conferences, events, courses, etc., so they may be seen on our webpage in the best possible way. I also support the department of production and camera.

Priscila Barrientos
Production assistant

 I graduated high school from Colegio Cristiano Verbo, 2006. I studied there, for three years. I studied seven years in Colegio Decroly Americano, where I learned to speak English, since the school is completely bilingual, and from first grade we have classes in that language. I also lived in Mexico, D.F. for two years, and studied there at Peterson School.  At this time, I am studying Psychology at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, and have been working with the Department of New Media, since October 2006.

I have an Associate Degree in television production from Universidad Galileo. My passions in life are music, image editing and motion graphics. I started doing this, for the fun of it, but the roads in my life has made video production my work.

Since July 2007 I work in New Media digitally editing conferences, special events, classes and creating animations and introductions for those videos.

In 2005, I graduated High School from Colegio Decroly Americano. At this time, I am studying Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurship from the School of Economics of Universidad Francisco Marroquín. Since June 2008, I have been working at New Media - UFM as a contents analyst. It consists of analyzing topics and creating indexes that work as an educational support, general information and facilitating the use and consult of the videos that are produced in the department.
